"A great decanter for a great price. I used it twice this weekend, with an Amarone and a big Napa Cab. It is the perfect size for a full bottle, and the bowl provides a large surface area to allow the wine to open up very nicely. It's stable, and I didn't have to worry about it tipping, and spilling my expensive wine. Our dinner guests also commented on it's classy look on our dinner table. I may just buy another one, we like it that much."

"My husband & I have recently started doing a bit more entertaining, with small children, it's much easier to have people over than go out. I like to have wine for my guests & have found that red wine tastes so much better when decanted first. When I first received this decanter, I was really impressed with the quality & appearance. It looks so much nicer than the picture shows. I'm not the most graceful person, admittedly, I'm a bit clumsy but have yet to have an issue pouring with this decanter. The shape of the pour spout, shape of the neck & putting a hand on the bottom to steady it, make it really easy to dispense the wine & look like you know what you're doing."

"When the decanter arrived it was even more beautiful in person. I was surprised at how thick the glass was. While this is delicate it is made very well so there is no need to worry when grasping it by the neck to pour into the wine glasses. Though I highly suggest supporting the bottom with your other hand. I used the decanter to decant 1/2 a bottle of red wine. The opening it wide enough making pouring the bottle of wine without spilling a breeze. The angled neck also makes it easy to pour the wine from the decanter into the wine glasses."

"This decanter softened and smoothed the taste of red wine for me. Wine has a strong alcohol taste to me so I am glad there is a product like this that is able to soften and smooth the taste for me. All I did was pour some red wine into the decanter and after about a minute or two I poured it into a glass from there and it was ready to drink. It takes a little longer than usual to pour since it has to go from the circular part in the bottom of the decanter to its neck. Some of the wine spilled going from the decanter to the glass but I think it was because I used a smaller glass than normal for wine. It washed well in our dishwasher also, without being scratched or damaged from what I can tell."

What makes a great vintage wine?

One of our best sellers is the wine decanter. It's no surprise, you wouldn't serve a 2007 bottle of Vieux Château Certan for a dinner party any other way. But what makes a great vintage? The word Vintage originates from the old French vendage (influenced by vintener vintner), which was taken...
